If you’re looking for an escape from the crowds at Kits Beach or Jericho this summer, we’ve got a great spot to toss your way. Kelvin Grove Beach Park is located on the southernmost tip of the Village of Lions Bay – and offers visitors the perfect sanctuary to enjoy the summer heat.
After parking above the railway tracks at Tidewater Way, visitors can follow the brief trail to the natural beaches, or opt to check out the community garden and picnic area. There’s even an off-leash dog area with pet waste bags available – no need to leave your four-legged friends at home!
The beach itself boasts clear blue water, rocky coral reefs and starfish, and sandy ledges that are perfect for deep divers. Other sea life to look out for? Sea urchins, a variety of shells, sea cucumbers, and small fish like rockfish and painted greenlings.
Folks who venture out further into the water may even be able to spot some cloud sponges and sixgill sharks that like to swim in deeper waters.
