According to Ontario Parks, “Kawartha Highlands Signature Site is the largest park in southern Ontario after Algonquin Provincial Park.”

If you like to swim and be on the water, this is the park for you.

The many clear lakes of Kawartha Highlands provide great opportunities for swimming, with water accessible at almost every angle.

If you want to stay dry then hop in a canoe as the waters here are perfect to do so.

There are six recommended canoe routes through the park, ranging from easy to moderate in difficulty.

A canoe route map is available for sale from the park office.

You won’t find any lifeguards nearby so be sure to pack life jackets and dress accordingly if you decide to hit the waters.

This park is big and it can be easy to get lost when exploring so be sure to print off or download a map of Kawartha Highlands prior to your visit.

Day fees start at $12.25 after tax per vehicle, with camping availability here if you feel like staying longer!

Happy exploring!
