Nod to Canada: US museum makes not one but two Justin Trudeau bobbleheads

Today is a special day, not just because it’s Friday. January 7 also happens to be National Bobblehead Day! Didn’t know that was a thing? We didn’t either, but get this, in celebration of the day you can actually buy a bobblehead of Canada’s PM, Justin Trudeau.

According to National Day Calendar, bobbleheads originated in Germany and were popularized in the United States during the 1950s and 60s. They had a resurgence in the 1990s when sports teams started using them as promo items. If sports teams can do it, why not government officials?

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is in charge of the 2,022 limited edition JT bobbleheads. They’re only available while supplies last so we’ll say go ahead and treat yourself. Add that JT bobblehead to the list of things you didn’t know you needed.

The limited-edition bobblehead pack comes with two figurines (YES, not one, two) for the price of $45 USD. You can have the bobbling version of the prime minister with and/or without a beard. They’re also available individually at $25 USD a pop. And to make matters slightly more comical, these figurines are actually being released in the US. Yes, it turns out Americans love JT.

Now don’t worry, if you live in Canada you can still purchase the figurines, you’ll just have to pay $20 USD for shipping. It’s also worth keeping in mind that the figurines won’t ship until May 2022. But hey, that’s a small wait for a timeless item.
