Tonight’s the night! Calgarian to be the first Canadian ‘Jeopardy!’ contestant in 2 years

On a master tier list of the world’s best game shows, we’d be willing to bet that Jeopardy! is ranked top 5 and one of our own is about to take to the buzzer. 42-year-old Ujal Thakor from Calgary will appear on the fast-moving program tonight, Wednesday, March 2nd, and here’s why you should watch!

The director of strategy at FYidoctors in YYC, not only is Thakor a fellow Albertan, he’s also the first contestant to rep on the show Canada in two years.

“I’m proud to have achieved a lifelong goal of competing on @Jeopardy!” He wrote on Twitter

“After a lifetime of random fact retention, tests+auditions, and support from incredible people… be sure to tune in to watch me on Wed, March 2nd.

This is pretty exciting considering the show has sorely lacked a northern presence since host, icon, legend, and sweetheart, Alex Trebek, passed away in 2020.

Now obviously, while Thakor is not permitted to talk about the results (as the show was filmed back in January), we’ve got a good feeling about his appearance and hope to see him kick some serious butt tonight.

Hosted by Jeopardy! Ken Jennings, who holds 74 consecutive wins, Canadians can catch Ujal Thakor from Calgary tonight at 7 pm ET when he takes on returning champion Margaret Shelton and Christie Baugher.

Tune in and cheer him on! It’s going to be an exciting one!
