J. Cole is Toronto’s newest athlete & now plays for a Scarborough basketball team

It looks like J. Cole is ready to transition from rapper to Raptor. The mega-star just inked a deal with the Scarborough Shooting Stars, a team in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL).

The rapper, whose real name is Jermaine Cole, is continuing to pursue his basketball career after playing pro for the Basketball Africa League last year.

Cole may be 37 years old with over a dozen Grammys to his name, but he’s proving to himself and the world that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself.

He’ll definitely be bringing star power to the new team, which will be kicking off its very first season on May 26.

The first home game is set for June 4 at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Cetre and something tells us it’ll be a packed house, thanks to their newest recruit.

Between games and the start of his international tour in June, Cole has a busy summer ahead of him.

It looks like the Shooting Stars will have to make do without him for a few games, as Cole hits the U.S., the U.K., the Netherlands, and Switzerland throughout June and July.

Will Drake be sitting courtside to show his fellow Grammy-winner some support? We can only hope!
