Is this wild Toronto spot the best backyard rink in Canada? (VIDEO)

Hockey fans are sure to get a kick out of the incredible set up one Toronto household put together. The Wiess family went over-the-top once again this winter to create an unbelievable backyard hockey rink. This thing looks just like an actual NHL rink with boards, sponsors and even a huge Leafs logo in the centre. The only difference? It’s right smack in the middle of North York.

Okay, there’s a few other difference from legit NHL rinks. For starters, the Wiess family rink is about half the size of what you’d see in the professional league. But still, it’s pretty insane. It’s fully equipped with all sorts of amazing perks like a custom lighting and sound system. Plus, it’s surrounded by nature for a gorgeous, outdoor feel.

So the rink is made with refrigerator ice-making technology that allows it to be adjusted to whatever the weather is. Pretty neat, right? It’s got three-quarter inch glass to absorb the impact of any flying pucks. Plus, it’s decked out with a ton of cool logos on the backboards to give it a real NHL-feel. Did we mention how insane this rink is yet??

Given the quarantine and all the creative ways people have had to stay entertained, we’ve got to say, this is one of our favourites.

Sadly, the rink not open for public visitors. But if you’re itching for a day on the ice, you can book a leisure skate slot at one of Toronto’s many open public rinks. It’s not exactly the same as a hockey game, but we’ll take what we can get.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
