Instagram is looking into outage that has users reporting account suspensions

Update: As of Monday afternoon, many users seem to have access to their Instagram accounts again.

If you’re like us, you may not have access to your Instagram account today, October 31. This spooky incident isn’t just happening to you. It looks like many users are experiencing issues accessing their accounts, and Instagram has acknowledged the problem.

On October 31, many users trying to access Instagram were met by a message stating “We suspended your account on October 31, 2022.” The message said the user had 30 days to disagree with the decision, and the account is then suspended.

A search for the account will show the user doesn’t exist. Following Instagram’s instructions, users still are met with a blank screen that doesn’t load. Other users are reporting the loss of followers.
