There’s no denying that holiday parades are a crucial part of the season, and with Vancouver’s Santa Parade cancelled again this year, we’re on the prowl for the most festive celebrations taking place across the province. With that said, here are 7 holiday parades to look forward to in BC this year.
Invermere’s annual Light Up Celebration & Santa Claus Parade returns to Downtown Invermere at Cenotaph Park on Saturday, November 25th. So mark your calendars and get ready to commence the season before December even rolls around!
The family-friendly event will take place from 1 to 9 p.m. – so stay tuned for upcoming details.

Saturday, December 2nd is Chilliwack’s “brightest night of the year” thanks to its annual Rotary Christmas Parade. The festivities will commence at 5:30 p.m. on Spadina Avenue – stay tuned for this year’s parade route and details!

Downtown Squamish is hosting a community-wide parade that’s inclusive of all wintertime holidays, including Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and more. The parade will take place from 3rd Avenue along Pemberton, and go up Cleveland to Main Street.

Looking for a festive Santa parade to check out now that Vancouver’s has been cancelled for 2023? The 16th annual Surrey Santa Parade of Lights is on this year, bringing a mix of decorated antique cars, trucks, and floats to the historic town centre of Cloverdale.
When: Sunday, December 3rd

The Maple Ridge Christmas Festival Society is putting on an exciting parade starting at 6 p.m. on December 2rd, as well as a Christmas in the Park festival.

From the last Thursday in November until the second Sunday in January, the town of Ladysmith will be alight with thousands of twinkling Christmas lights. Visitors can walk or drive down First Avenue to take it all in, and even participate in this year’s Light Up Parade on November 30th, which kicks the festival off.
The parade will include a craft and artisan fair at Aggie Hall, street entertainment and concessions, and of course, the arrival of Santa at 6:30 pm.

The Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association is hosting a Santa Claus Parade of their own – and you won’t have to wait until December to check it out. The 43rd annual parade will take place on Sunday, November 26th, commencing at 4 p.m.
