There’s a holiday walking tour of Vancouver’s “scandalous history” with a side of hot chocolate

Forbidden Vancouver Walking Tours has introduced an exciting new guided tour just in time for the holidays, aptly named Holiday History & Hot Chocolate. On the tour, participants will be guided through multiple light displays at the city’s finest hotel lobbies, see historic heritage buildings, and hear tales of intrigue, jealousy, and murder, according to the tour’s website.

Oh, and they’ll finish off the tour at Vancouver’s Marine Building, where they’ll be treated to delicious hot chocolate from award-winning Mink Chocolates!

From stories of Great Depression-era class warfare to the lives of Vaudeville dancers like Fred Astaire, visitors will no doubt be entertained as well as educated on the city’s gritty past.

A few things to note prior to booking a tour:

• Each tour takes two hours to complete
• Tours will run in December and January only, with limited spots available
• Tours times vary and include 10 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm slots
• Full refunds are available up to 24 hours before your tour start time

Tour tickets are available online for $49 per adult and $45 for children and seniors. Participants will meet at the corner of Robson and Granville, in front of Old Navy.

Note that dairy-free hot chocolate is available at the end of the tour as well.
