Have you been loving our Ontario travels lately? We sure have! Next on our list is the lovely town of Dundas, Ontario. This “valley town,” is home to historic buildings right in the heart of the picturesque Dundas Valley. Here’s what to know about Dundas.
You’ll need to head west of Toronto, and about an hour away is where you’ll find Dundas – a charming town with a quaint downtown core, surrounded by nature.
According to Downtown Dundas BIA, its tree-lined streets feature historic 19th-century buildings, and is home to arts, culture, recreation, and over 100 shops, restaurants and more.
If you’re searching for a fall trip, this is the best way to escape from the busy city streets.
Though it’s a great town to fuel up if you’re looking for a bite or two, what stands out the most is its proximity to a number of waterfalls just minutes away from the downtown core.
According to Tourism Hamilton, Websters Falls is “one of the largest and most popular waterfalls in the area, with its scenic surroundings and dramatic 22-metre drop.”
It’s part of the Spencer Gorge/Webster Falls Conservation Area, and it’s minutes away from the downtown core.
The 22-metre display is considered a “classical curtain waterfall” and is described as one of Hamilton’s most iconic waterfalls.
Chasing waterfalls? Make sure to explore Canterbury Falls, Sherman Falls, Lower Little Falls, and Tiffany Falls in the Dundas Valley Conservation Area.
This conservation area is described as “one of southern Ontario’s most spectacular natural treasures.”
It is comprised of forests, meadows, streams, wildlife, waterfalls, and ancient geological formations – perfect for a hiking adventure.
If you’re in your walking era, embark on the 40 km recreational trail system that runs through the towns of Ancaster and Dundas. It’s perfect for those looking for an outdoor adventure.
There’s tons to do and to see in the town of Dundas and we’re sure you’ll absolutely love it.
Now who’s ready to make a road trip out of it?
