It’s official, everyone! The City of Toronto has announced that we will get to see High Park’s cherry blossoms “up close and in person” this spring.
The Sakura groves, which typically reach peak bloom in late April to mid-May, were fenced off to prevent crowds for the past two springs.
This time around, all will be invited back to the park to enjoy the trees in all of their glory, as well as at the 15 other cherry blossom locations around the city.
“When the peak bloom begins, I encourage you to rediscover the cherry blossoms in High Park and in cherry blossom locations across the city,” said Mayor John Tory in a press release.
With only a few weeks left to wait until the blooming season begins, this is the good news we’ve been waiting for!
