Love any chance to explore small-town BC? The annual High on Ice Winter Festival is Fort St. John’s signature event, and it’s a great opportunity to make the trek up north for a magical winter adventure or two.
The festival features a variety of winter-themed events, including professional ice carving, and sliding down ice slides in Centennial Park!
According to organizers, the upcoming festival is set to create a “land of ice,” featuring the work of the talented Jesse Forrester and a slew of carving experts.
So get ready to see some exciting new ice sculptures!
In addition to the festival, town visitors can explore no shortage of paved trails, snowshoeing paths, and over 29 different parks.
Ready to check out the festival for yourself?
The upcoming High on Ice Winter Festival takes place from Feb. 14 to 17, 2025.
Oh, and don’t forget to bring along your warmest layers to slide down the ice slides, which are free to enjoy!
That’s all for now, Vancouver. We say mark your calendars and consider making the trip if you’re up for the adventure!
How to get there: Drive 14 hours from Vancouver via the Cariboo Highway/BC-97 N and BC-97 N.
