Here’s everything you need to know about this month’s Bloor-Yorkville Ice Fest

Every winter in Toronto, the one downtown area is decorated with gorgeous ice sculptures. Folks come out, from all over the city, to experience the magic of the Bloor-Yorkville Ice Fest. Plus this year, the event has found a way to operate from a social distance. Woohoo for COVID-19 safety!

So let’s start by giving you a little breakdown of what to expect at the Bloor-Yorkville Ice Fest. This year’s theme is “A Trip Around the World.” After all the time we’ve spent taking zero trips and staying at home, the theme couldn’t be more welcome.

There will be over 50 ice creations, made from 68,000 lbs of ice, depicting famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Big Ben, and more.

Of course, as we mentioned, this is all happening with your safety in mind. So this year, the sculptures will be well spaced out to enjoy from afar. If you’re not comfy with a socially-distant walk in-person, you can also explore the tour from the Bloor-Yorkville Instagram feed.

On top of all the sculptures, this event is also serving as a fundraiser. Proceeds will be going directly to Second Harvest. This amazing non-profit is one of Canada’s largest food rescue organizations. They focus on environmental protection as well as hunger relief. If you’d like to make a donation you can do so here.

So mark your calendars, people. Cause this amazing event is one you won’t want to miss. We know we’ll be stopping by, hot chocolate in hand, for a gorgeous winter stroll.
