It certainly isn’t every day that we get to see the moon pass over the sun, and thank goodness because the internet would never talk about anything else. This morning thousands of Canadians woke up at the break of dawn to catch the very first annular solar eclipse of the year, and naturally, Twitter and Instagram went absolutely nuts.
Though our neighbouring star wasn’t completely overshadowed by the freezing rock, Canada got to snap a few photos of what is called the ‘ring of fire,’ which in our opinion, looks a heck of a lot better from behind the lens.
All over the globe, shutterbugs shared snaps of the larger-than-life event were all over social media – and because A. – some of the pictures were stunning and B. – the entire west coast wasn’t able to see it – we’ve decided that it was worth compiling some of our very favourites.
