The letter is divided into 11 beautifully-written sections. Each one is dedicated to a different facet of Powell’s feelings about the trade. He thanks his teammates and Toronto as a whole, and even Drake gets a shoutout! He also reflects on how far his journey has come and where it’s set to go.

One of the parts where we really felt a lump in our throat is his reflection on Kyle Lowry’s reaction to the news.

He also shared a punch-in-the-gut heartfelt note about how he feels about the Toronto fanbase.

Is someone chopping onions in here???

Many top-notch sports reporters and personalities reacted to Norman Powell’s goodbye on Twitter.

But, of course, the most gut-wrenching reaction of all was Powell’s BFF Fred Vanvleet’s Instagram tribute.

Look at all those memories!! Our hearts just can’t handle it!!!

Powell closes things off with a touching note about how he hopes to be remembered.

He really was one of us.
