Autumn is just around the corner and that means u-pick apples are popping up near Seattle. Being that Washington produces the most apples for consumption in the nation, picking apples is a must. Luckily for you, there are plenty of spots where you can enjoy picking your own. Here are 10 of the best u-pick apple orchards around Seattle.
This Snohomish Farm has 5 acres of delicious Honeycrisp and Jonagold apples for you to pick while supplies last. Best of all, you can walk among the trees to select your apples just the way you like them. Might as well see just how many pounds you can pick.
When: Monday-Friday 10 am-6 pm, Saturday & Sunday 9 am-6 pm
Where: 7301 Rivershore Rd, Snohomish, WA
This family heritage farm has been growing sustainable fruits and vegetables for more than 130 years so you know that they know a thing or two about apples. The ranch has an assortment of apples although they have not released details on this year’s apple season.
When: Friday & Saturday 2 pm-6 pm
Where: 16397 Highway 12 Clarkston, WA
This farm is unique in that it’s a working farm and that means you have plenty to pick. When the season opens you can grab William’s Pride, Gravenstein, Zestar, Pristine, and Summersweet among others. Beyond apples, you can also pick Bartlett Pears, get fresh raw cider (Gravenstein blend) blackberries, Seneca plum, and end of blueberries.
When: Tuesday-Saturday 9 am-6 pm, Sunday 11 am-6 pm
Where: 7228 Skipley Rd, Snohomish, WA
If you want to go big, Jones Creek Farm has over 50 varieties of u-pick apples. Yes 50, so you can truly try them all if that’s something you’re into. Be sure to check their harvest calendar here before you go in case you’re looking for a specific variety.
When: Daily 10 am-5 pm
Where: 32260 Burrese Rd, Sedro Woolley, WA
This exquisite orchard is known for a lot more than just u-pick. But if you’re not renting out the beautiful grounds you can pick Bartlett pears, McIntosh, Wealthy and Tydeman Red apples. You’ll also be able to choose from even more apple varieties once October rolls around.
When: Monday-Saturday 9 am-6 pm, Sunday 10 am-6 pm

Surprise folks, this Tacoma orchard is actually free! For that reason, you can expect it to get over picked. However, it’s still worth checking out if you’re going to be in the area. Because who doesn’t love free fruit?? It also might just be one of the closest u-pick apples to Seattle.
When: Daily 7 am-9 pm
Where: 3920 Grandview Dr. W, University Place
And if you’re into all things natural, you might want to make the drive to Yakima for West Valley U-Pick. Because they have u-pick available for apples and a ton of other produce options as well. So if you want to go big, go here.
When: Monday-Saturday 8 am-7 pm, Sunday 9 am-5 pm
Where: 11901 Zier Road, Yakima
This spot won’t be open until October but has a whole host of different apple varieties including Jonagold, Melrose, Mutsu, Gala, and Snow Sweet. This spot is a no-nonsense u-pick spot so if you’re looking to pick and nothing else, it’s a great option. Be sure to check their Facebook for updates.

If you’re looking for more than just apples Ray French Orchard is a great option. You can choose from produce like peaches, nectarines, watermelons, and of course, apples. Why not pick a little bit of everything?
When: Monday-Saturday 8:30 am-5:30 pm
Where: 921 Harvest Lane PR NE Richland, WA
And finally, we have to cap the list with one of the largest apple orchards in western Washington. If you’re wondering, you’ll be looking at about 25,000 trees. So you’ll have a whole lot of tasty goodness to pick from.
When: Wednesday-Sunday 9 am-5 pm
