The Handmaid’s Tale is filming in Toronto & the stars are posting updates

It looks like the cast and crew of The Handmaid’s Tale have returned for another season of filming in Ontario. Production began in Toronto earlier this week on February 7th and the stars are starting to drop hints that they’re back on set.

According to Toronto’s list of projects currently filming, Gilead 5 Productions will be shooting season five of the series in the city until the end of July.

The title of the project is called Ruby Road Season Five, which is also the name of the production that’s currently underway at the former tourism centre in Brantford at 399 Wayne Gretzky Pkwy, reports the Brantford Expositor.

That means you might catch a glimpse of a handmaid or two if you happen to be in the area.

Stars Amanda Brugel and O-T Fagbenle have already been sharing behind-the-scenes updates. Brugel, who plays Rita, posted a video of a folding chair with her character’s name on it along with the caption, “Coming to life. #season5.”

Fagbenle posted a photo with his co-star Elisabeth Moss with the caption, “Guess where I am…” along with a hashtag about The Handmaid’s Tale season 5.

It seems like it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing red cloaks and white bonnets all over the city again!
