With Halloween just around the corner, we thought we’d go ahead and share some of the spookiest, most exciting events we’ve found around the city. And since the 31st falls on a Tuesday this year, you better believe we’ll be celebrating all Halloweekend long. So with that in mind, here are 10 of the best Halloween parties and events to check out around Vancouver this year.
On both Friday and Saturday of Halloweekend, Portside is celebrating Halloween with a special Barbie-themed event featuring music all night long, from 8 pm to 3 pm, a Barbie Photo Booth, and complimentary champagne and pink cupcakes at midnight.

Sunwave is returning to Heritage Hall this year for another spooktacular ‘haunting’ and party. And since Heritage Hall is one of the oldest buildings in the city, we’re sure there will be plenty of ghostly surprises in store.

If you love getting creative with Halloween costumes every year, get ready to roll up your sleeves. East Vancouver’s annual Parade of Lost Souls returns this year, and it’s bringing a spooky blend of art, music, and dance with it.
This year, the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret Society is organizing several distinct workshops prior to the main parade: A “Thriller Flash Mob,” a mystical “Witches Dance Workshop,” and “Do the Time Warp.”

Labelled as Vancouver’s largest Halloween event, Electric Asylum at the Enso Event Centre is the place to be if you love EDM.

If you’re looking for a little more incentive for dressing up this year, Cold Tea Lounge is celebrating with a party that awards those in costume with one free drink and snacks. DJ Kola will be spinning all night long, starting at 5 pm.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to cross-stitch, now’s your chance. This spooky workshop is a great alternative if you’re looking for something more chill to do on Halloween, and tickets include all the materials you’ll need as well as a Spiced Punch Mocktail.

Whether you’re looking for adult pumpkin carving and painting or a family-friendly Monster Mash Dance Party, the City of Richmond has you covered with its Fireworks Festival, which is set to take place on Halloween on Tuesday, October 31st.

From 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 28th, you can come to E.C. Rare Books in downtown Vancouver dressed as your favourite book character, and enjoy a night of rare collectibles and art, live music, interactive art installations, and refreshments.

The Fox is hosting its 8th annual ‘Undead Disco,’ which features two floors of dancing and retro beats spun by DJ Beaubien and special guest DJ Phil Dee. There’s also a $250 costume contest, with the first prize going to the best dressed!

Aura Nightclub is being transformed into a haunted house this Halloweekend, complete with music spun by DJs Zayden Path & Cerberus until 4 a.m.
