Touch the sky: Canada’s highest suspension bridge opens soon & here’s what to know

After officially opening to the public last summer, the Golden Skybridge is almost ready to kick off its 2022 season! This stunning pair of suspension bridges is absolutely a must-see for anyone driving through the area. What’s more, there are some extra things to check out during your visit! Here’s the scoop.

The new Golden Skybridge comes from Pursuit, the company behind FlyOver Canada in Vancouver, and the Columbia Icefield Skywalk, among other things. The new skybridges are connected via forested trails, and are just minutes outside of downtown Golden. If that’s not enough though, guests can also check out a ropes course, treat themselves to some food, and even fly down a zipline.

One bridge sits at 80m high, while the other soars some 130m over the valley floor. To put this into perspective, Niagara Falls is around 50m high, and Vancouver’s popular Capilano Suspension Bridge is 70m high. Pair that with some amazing views of the surrounding mountains (with a waterfall for good measure) and this has already become a bucket-list destination in the province.

The best part? We don’t have to wait too long before it opens! The Golden Skybridge is slated to open on May 13th, and tickets are already on sale. Like we said, this is a must-see stop for anyone in the area, so keep it in mind if this summer.
