A free summer series with a block party & street food festival is set for Vancouver

If you love scouring the city for the best free summer events, we’ve got a handful to toss your way. Low Tide Properties is once again throwing a summer series that’s completely free to attend, and it includes a block party, a street food festival, and an open-air artisan market.

With festivities planned for Strathcona, Gastown, and South Flats, the series is a collaboration between local businesses and community stakeholders looking to spotlight all that each neighbourhood has to offer. All events will be family-friendly and feature local vendors, diverse cuisine, and live music, according to organizers.

Taking over the 800 block of East Hastings, the Strathcona Block Party will kick things off on June 22nd, and will feature an array of local artisans, food trucks, live music, and a beer garden.

This year’s ‘Meet Me in Gastown’ will take place on August 15th, transforming Water Street into an outdoor concert courtesy of the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra and a street food festival hosted by local restaurants.

Finally, the series will wrap with the free Flats Fest, which will bring live music, food trucks, an artisan market, and a Kid’s Zone to 565 Great Northern Way on September 7th.
