Ontario provincial parks will be free to visit this weekend thanks to King Charles III

Attention, outdoor enthusiasts! To celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, locals can take advantage of free day use at Ontario provincial parks this weekend.

Ontario Parks confirmed to Curiocity that all 39 provincial parks that are open during this point in the season will be free for visitors to access on Saturday, May 6th.

In addition to the many parks open year-round, there are several that opened up for the season in April and others that will open on May 5th.

Among the popular destinations that will be free to visit on Saturday are Bronte Creek, Arrowhead, Mono Cliffs, Pinery, Sandbanks, Wasaga Beach, and Sleeping Giant.

The popular parks opening on May 5th include Darlington, Pancake Bay, and Turkey Point.

You can also secure your spot by booking a vehicle permit in advance online.

Advance vehicle permits can be booked up to five days in advance and as of this year, the permits are available at an addition 20 parks.

This allows you to secure your spot well in advance, which comes in handy when you’re visiting popular parks and on busy days like this upcoming Saturday.
