This park in Ontario is home to four sandy beaches with shallow & clear waters

It’s getting hot out there, Ontario! That means a beach day is in order and thankfully our wonderful province is full of them. If there’s one shoreline you should relax on, it is at one of the four beaches within René Brunelle Provincial Park. Here’s what to know.

Though we’re familiar with the more popular beaches like Wasaga, Sable, and Sandbanks, René Brunelle Provincial Park is a lovely option especially if you’re in the Timmins area.

For us in Toronto, it’s about an eight-hour drive north but serves as a lovely escape from the city for a few days.

With how hot it’s been in Ontario lately, dipping your toes into a nice and cool lake sounds heavenly. Treat your sun-kissed skin to a beach day at René Brunelle.

Though there are plenty of things to do such as boating, canoeing, fishing, and hiking, swimming is a must.

There’s quite a bit of history with this park and Remi Lake as it used to serve as a float plane base back in the early 1900s.

Now, the four sandy beaches offer shallow, clear waters that are perfect for family swimming.

You’ll find change facilities, a full-size sand volleyball court at the Day Use Area, and a place to play horseshoes.

Sound like fun to you? Make sure to add Rene Brunelle Provincial Park to you summer beaches bucket list.
