This Ontario trail has an observation platform perfect for colourful fall views

Fall days call for outdoor adventures and scenic views! If you’re itching for panoramic vistas, all you need to do is hit the road and embark on an exciting hiking trail at Fleetwood Creek Natural Area.

Just east of Port Perry is this thrilling fall adventure. It’s about an hour’s drive from Toronto.

What to know about Fleetwood Creek Natural Area

Fleetwood Creek Natural Area consists of 900 acres of land and is managed by Kawartha Conservation for the Ontario Heritage Foundation, according to Conservation Ontario.

Here you can leash up your dog and take it for a walk, go birding, or hike along the trails.

This natural area has three trails to explore: East Forest Trail, a 2.5 km long adventure; West Forest Trail, which is about 3 km long; and Valley Trail, which is 2.2 km and the shortest of the three.

Platform views

Since we’re all about the scenery, head along The Valley Trail. On this natural journey, that’s where you’ll find the observation platform.

You can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding land as fall colours take over the landscape.

The Valley trail can be accessed at 902 Ballyduff Rd., which is accessible from Highway 35, according to Conservation Ontario.

“A second parking lot on Solanum Way, off Porter Road, provides access to the East and West trails. Please note that these roads are unassumed, and the parking areas are not maintained from Oct. 31 to May 1.”

They’re open all year long, but from May to October, operating hours start at 7 a.m. and end at 9 p.m. Starting in November, operating hours run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Make the most of this fall season and enjoy the outdoors.
