This low-cost airline in Canada has $1 base fares & the deal is here to stay

Want to travel this fall? If you’re on a budget, you might be in luck because Canada’s low-cost Flair Airlines, has announced an incredible new deal and it’s here to stay!

The carrier shared that they will now offer $1 base fares (plus taxes, fees, and add-ons) to adventure-seeking customers, but there are a few things you’ll need to understand before packing your bags.

How does it work?

First and foremost, it’s important to note that not every base fare will cost less than a pack of gum.

According to Flair, these ultra-affordable routes will be subject to change, so you’ll have to act fast when your favourite spot gets selected.

“This promo will be ongoing now and part of Flair’s commitment to getting more people travelling, for less,” Director of Communications, Kim Bowie told Curiocity.

“There will always be $1 base fare destinations available, going forward. Different routes will be offered at different times throughout the year.”

You can visit this page here to see their current offers but be sure to check back often as they will be changed frequently and will be chosen based on “seasonality and demand.

Depending on when you hope to visit and where you’re departing from the following destinations are now just $1:

  • Cancun (CUN)
  • Puerto Vallarta (PVR)
  • Orlando (MCO)
  • Las Vegas (LAS)
  • Calgary (YYC)
  • Edmonton (YEG)
  • Kitchener Waterloo (YKF)
  • London (YXU)
  • Montréal (YUL)
  • St. John’s (YYT)
  • Toronto (YYZ)
  • Vancouver (YVR)

For example, Calgarians who want to travel home from Cancun for a loonie can do so on December 16th, 2024, while Edmontonians can return for cheap on December 17th, 19th, 22nd, and 24th. In addition, those in Vancouver will be able to climb aboard on October 29th and 31st, 2024 for just $1.

Likewise, if you live in Toronto, an affordable return flight from Puerto Vallarta will be available on October 27th, 2024.

“We are committed to breaking down barriers to travel, making it possible for more people to explore more places more often,” said Flair Airlines CEO Maciej Wilk.

“This $1 base fare launch is not a limited-time gimmick but a sustained commitment to offering unparalleled affordability across our entire network. And yet, our base fare is only a part of the total fare. We hope that airports, particularly in Canada, will follow suit and lower their fees so that more people can be empowered to travel.”
