This ribbon waterfall in Ontario with a viewing platform is a hidden gem

If you’re in Toronto or the GTA, you don’t have to go far to experience magical waterfalls. Felker’s Falls Conservation Area is in Hamilton Ontario, home to an impressive ribbon waterfall that you can explore as part of your next autumn adventure!

Getting there

Felker’s Falls Conservation Area is just an hour’s drive from Toronto.

There is no fee to get into the conservation area so once you’re there, it’s time to explore.

The Hamilton, Ontario hidden gem “flows over the edge of the Niagara Escarpment revealing a tall and impressive ribbon waterfall,” shares Tourism Hamilton.

There are also some geological rock formations in the bedrock gorge to check out as well.

To get to the top of the falls park on Ackland Street. From there just walk across the field and behind the wooden fence to access the waterfall.

There’s an accessible viewing platform to take in the sights, too. The Peter Street trail is also at the Ackland Street entrance and is a wheelchair-accessible loop that leads into the conservation area and to the viewing platform.

Want more waterfalls? Felker’s Falls is part of the East Mountain Trail Loop.

The trail leads to other waterfalls including Albion Falls, Buttermilk Falls and Glendale Falls. The path is distanced one way around at four kilometres or one hour of walking.
