Fat Ham is the new must-see show for spring and here’s how to get tickets

Okay, hear us out.

What if Hamlet took place at a Southern Black family BBQ?

Actually, you don’t have to wonder, because the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Fat Ham is getting it’s West Coast premiere courtesy of Seattle Rep.

This sparkling new comedy inspired by Shakespeare’s Hamlet tells the story of Juicy, a young queer Black man, who’s dealing with a lot

His mother just married his uncle after the sudden death of his father, whose ghost appears at a family barbecue to demand that Juicy avenge his murder.

The New York Times called it a “hilarious yet profound tragedy smothered in comedy.”

The production features a predominantly local cast and creative team, and is #BuiltBySeattleRep. The hype is unmatched!

Fat Ham is obviously THE show to see this spring.

There will also be community pop-up events in Seattle Rep’s lobby including Emma’s BBQ on  Wednesday, April 17th and Friday, April 26th at 6:30 PM, as well as on Sunday, May 12th between noon and  5:30 PM.

Keep an eye out for another pop-up in the lobby — Noir Lux Candles on April 24th, 26th, and May 12th!
