Visit one of Ontario’s hottest destinations this summer, located within the Muskoka region. The charming lakeside town of Bala, Ontario is known for many things, one of them being its famous waterfall. Here’s what to know about this must-visit destination.

There are many reasons to visit the charming cottage country town of Bala, Ontario.

According to Discover Muskoka, the town is located “at the convergence of Lake Muskoka and the Moon River.”

Love an adventure? Bush’s Watersports Park is Muskoka’s only cable wakeboard park, the “What Wake Park”.

Bala’s Museum, also known as the Anne of Green Gables Museum, showcases the history of Bala and memories of Green Gable’s author Lucy Maud Montgomery’s stay that helped inspire her novel, The Blue Castle, according to Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce.

Embark on a Heritage Walk and learn more about the town through a series of historic plaques.

But if you’re looking for an exciting and stunning natural sight, enjoy a picnic in Margaret Burgess Park for a view of the north Bala Falls as they cascade into the Moon River.

“You can see the south Bala Falls from the Bala Stone Church or Shield parking lot,” shares Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce.

It’s truly a sight to see!

Needless to say, there’s loads of fun to be had in Bala this summer and a road trip is a must.
