This map shows when the leaves will start changing color across Washington

With summer in the rearview and cozy months on the horizon, you might already be on the lookout for pumpkin patches and colorful fall leaves across Washington. After all, there’s nothing like slipping into your favorite cable-knit sweater and taking an autumnal stroll with a PSL in hand. Very main-character energy.

If you’re the planning type and want to know when you can expect peak fall leaves in Washington, you’re in luck. Smoky Mountains has an interactive map that lets you see exactly when to spot fall colors across the country. Well, it’ll give you a pretty good estimate based on data from past years – there’s no crystal ball after all!

According to the interactive map, fall leaves will start to be visible in Washington around the beginning of October, with autumnal colors approaching their peak around mid-October. The most intense colors are expected around October 21st, although if you live in another part of Washington besides King County, leaves might have already passed their peak by then.
