This free two-day festival near Seattle celebrates fall foliage

Ready to step into fall? The Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden is hosting its annual Fall Foliage Festival – an event for garden aficionados and nature enthusiasts of all ages to watch the leaves change color. Here’s what to expect from this year’s event.

Guests are invited to view a vast array of Japanese maples, deciduous azaleas, and other leafy treasures. It’s your last chance to see the brightest colors of the season – at least until spring.

You are invited to don your favorite autumn-themed clothes and partake in a light-hearted costume contest for a chance to win garden prizes. Additionally, you can savor sweet, frothy drinks as well as warm, spicy eats from food trucks.

On Saturday, you can enjoy fall color guided tours, pop-up plant vendors, food trucks, a costume contest and kids scavenger hunt. And on Sunday, you can check out all the same attractions, minus the food trucks.

If you feel like seeing more plants after the festival you can always head next door to the Pacific Bonsai Museum. Admission to the Bonsai Museum is by donation and is another great way to take in all of Washington’s beautiful fall color.

That being said, admission to the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden’ Fall Foliage Festival is free. Enjoy!
