Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, especially when they’re free, am I right? Calgarians can now start the hunt around the city for a diamond that’s been hidden by Executive Diamonds. The local family-owned jewellery spot shared details of this competition starting today, Feb. 7, 2025, and yes, you could actually take home a free diamond, but you gotta hunt for it.
According to Executive Diamonds, there will be polaroids with photos of diamonds and gems hidden around the city at other local businesses. If you find a polaroid, you can take it back to Executive Diamonds to get it tested to see if it’s the real deal.
There will be 15 polaroids hidden in total.
Via Instagram stories, the jewellery store shares that the polaroids will be hidden inside the participating businesses, not outside, due to the frigid weather.
“The photo will be hidden inside, so once you find that photo you can come to us, we’re going to match it to a baggie with the gem or diamond, and we’re going to test it together to see if you are the winner,” says Executive Diamonds.
Wondering which businesses to go diamond hunting at? Executive Diamonds says that the companies are spread all across Calgary and that if you’d like to know exactly which ones, you can come into their store to find out. The store will have a wheel that anyone is welcome to spin and not only does it have each participating business on it, but if you land on that business you can also take home a voucher from the spot.
The competition will be running from Feb. 7 to Feb. 14, a perfect little Valentine’s Day gift to yourself, perhaps.
