Good news folks, because the Vancouver Pride Society has just released the lineup for their season this summer! Running from July 19th to August 3rd, this season is full of amazing events, talks, art walks and more. So, let’s check it out for ourselves!
Right off the bat we’ll let you know that the biggest event, the Pride Parade, will take place in a ‘decentralized’ format. That means that the organizers are hoping that people will dress up in their best outfits and have a picnic in the park, walk down their street with friends, or head to a local patio. Photos and videos from these small gatherings will be broadcast, and prizes for viewers are up for grabs as well!

Other major events this summer include an in-person drag show, the Online ‘Posh Ball’ presented by Van Vogue Jam, and a ‘Pride Art Walk’ curated by the Vancouver Mural Fest. So, whether you feel like showing off at home, getting a little rowdy at a drag show, or checking out some amazing public art, that (and much more) is waiting for you!
Our advice? Browse the full lineup of events and sign up for the ones you’re into! We have a feeling that a lot of these will reach capacity super quick, so it’s better to be proactive about this kind of stuff. Especially the in-person events!
