Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is performing a collection of festive holiday shows

The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (ESO) is back with an amazing selection of holiday shows.

For the Christmas and holiday season, the ESO is showcasing a wonderful array of music and performances. You can expect only the greatest from Edmonton’s best, and with a perfect selection of shows to choose from, it’s a season you cannot miss.

Here are the holiday shows coming up that we think are must-sees.

The ESO holiday shows to see this season

Handel’s Messiah

Handel’s treasured sacred work, which has long been a beloved holiday staple in Edmonton and beyond, returns to the Winspear stage. Featuring Chorus Inspira, you will be entranced by these historical pieces, which were composed in 1741.

When: Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, and Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025

Christmas with Johnny Reid

Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter Johnny Reid is coming to the Winspear this Christmas. At this fantastic show, Reid will be sharing personal favourites, cherished classics, and inspiring stories to usher in the holiday season.

When: Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, to Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025

A Very Merry Pops

This performance will feature all your favourite Christmas and holiday carols. For those who want to join in, there will even be a sing-along portion for your enjoyment!

Hollywood for the Holidays

From K-Pop Demon Hunters to Batman, this performance is bringing out all the Hollywood favourites. It’s perfect for movie lovers, the perfect magical experience your entire family will love!

When: Monday, Dec. 29, 2025 and Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025
