Seattle is having a Mexican Independence celebration this month

Looking to celebrate Mexican independence this month? Seattle is hosting its own “El Grito” celebration in partnership with Orquesta Northwest, The Consulate of Mexico in Seattle, and Town Hall Seattle. It’s all about celebrating Mexican heritage and unity and here’s what you can expect.

Seattle’s El Grito celebration “takes its name from the famous ‘Grito de Dolores’ (Cry of Dolores), a call to arms that marked the beginning of Mexico’s struggle for independence from Spain in 1810.”
