The longest mountain coaster in Canada is reopening at Cypress Mountain & here’s what to expect

Great news, thrill-seekers and ride enthusiasts. Cypress Mountain’s beloved Eagle Coaster ride is reopening this week, and it’s open to folks of all ages and abilities! Best of all? Riders can control their own speed – so if you’re prone to an upset stomach, or just want to experience the ride at your leisure – you can take the ride at your own pace.

Of course, the opposite is also true. Riders can use the brakes themselves and safely reach thrilling speeds of up to 40 km per hour. So if you’re a fan of high-speed rides, you can also whip down the mountain. It’s all up to you!

The Eagle Coaster ride will take off from the top of the Eagle Express Quad Chair on Black Mountain, dropping 279 meters (900 feet) and spanning 1700 metres total (just over a mile long).

Your ride will be accompanied by towering trees and forested visas, as well as exciting bends in the track to keep things interesting.

If you’re looking for a ride this summer that everyone in the family will enjoy, this is probably it.

We should note that only children 8 years or older (and taller than 4’1″) can ride alone. Younger children must be accompanied by someone 16 years or older.

The Eagle Coaster will open on Friday, June 3rd, with coaster tickets starting at $32 per ride. If you want to experience the ride more than once, there’s also a two-ride pass for $55. And no, you can’t use your two-ride pass for two different people, sadly.

Stay tuned via Cypress Mountain’s website and socials for more deets as they come.

We’ll see you at Cypress, Vancouver!
