Dress to Impress: The Cup is back this summer with a $10k prize

Fans of feathered boas, rousing derby action and all things fancy, take note. The Cup (formerly known as The Deighton Cup) returns to Vancouver this July at the Hastings Racecourse after a two-year hiatus!

Prepare yourself for the city’s most fashionable event of the summer, complete with fine garments, silk bow ties, live music, craft cocktails, and a variety of local art.

This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, with one giant marquee and concourse playing host to over 10,000 derby revellers.

Speaking of 10,000 – The Cup has partnered with Orbiiit to crown the festival’s best-dressed, so you’ll definitely want to dress to impress. The prize is, you guessed it, $10,000 cash and the honour of judging next year’s event!

“Seeing the city come back to life and celebrate in grand style has inspired us to deliver the best day at the races yet,” says event organizer Dax Droski. “Show off your personal style and have fun with it. Of course, the food, champagne and thundering horses are always the perfect backdrops.”

As always, there will be the wildly popular Trackside VIP booths catered by Blank Canvas catering and Joseph Richard Group. A new addition this year is the ultimate hosted experience of Trackside VIP Chalets.

Check out the Deighton Cup 2019 from The Social Concierge below for a sneak peek of what’s to come! We think the video speaks for itself.

The Cup has a variety of tickets available – starting at $55 for individual pre-sale tickets, and groups starting at $750. Tickets include the Festival Pass valid for one person, a new Trackside VIP Chalet for up to 30 people, and much more.

All passes include access to eight horse races and the chance to enter the Style Stakes competition.

Be sure to check out their website at the link above for all their ticket offerings!

We’ll catch you at the races, Vancouver.
