The lineup for Western Canada’s largest documentary film fest is out

After a two-year break from in-person options, the DOXA Documentary Film Festival is coming back to Vancouver this May! And naturally, it’s pulling out all the stops for its return. If you’re wondering what that means, keep reading!

Kicking off on May 5th, the festival will run for 10 straight days with both in-person and virtual options to enjoy. In addition to the films (the stars of the show), the festival will be putting on a variety of workshops, artist talks, and Q+A sessions with filmmakers and industry members.

Of course, we’re most excited about all the films to see! This year, the festival is showing a whopping 55 feature and mid-length films, alongside 24 short films, which are mostly packaged into special programs for easy viewing. The topics run the gamut as well, from intimate looks at the fentanyl epidemic to Indigenous stories and lives to international options.

And, with multiple locations in Vancouver joining in (like VIFF Centre and Cinematheque) there’s no shortage of opportunities to make the most of this major festival in the city. If you’re curious to learn more, or are ready to buy some tickets, just click the link below!
