Toronto outdoor pools will have dogs-only swimming this long weekend

Grab your furry friend and get ready to hit the pool! The City of Toronto will have dogs-only swimming at a number of its outdoor pools to close out the summer pool season.

According to the city,On the last day of the outdoor pool season, the City will offer free, dogs-only swim at several locations.”

Because the outdoor pool season has been extended, there will be a dogs-only swim taking place this weekend on Sunday, September 2nd, and again on Sunday, September 22nd.

Which pools will have dogs-only swimming?

The pools will have the dogs-only swim in the last two hours of the operating season (from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.) on the 2nd at the following spots:

  • Greenwood Park, 150 Greenwood Ave. 
  • High Park, 1873 Bloor St. W. 
  • Lambton – Kingsway Outdoor Pool, 37 Marquis Ave. 
  • Monarch Park, 115 Felstead Ave. 
  • Mitchell Field, 89 Church Ave. 
  • North Toronto Memorial Outdoor Pool, 200 Eglinton Ave W. 
  • Northwood Outdoor Pool, 15 Clubhouse Ct. 
  • Rotary Outdoor Pool, 25 Eleventh St. 
  • Stanley Park South, 700 Wellington St. W. 
  • Kiwanis Outdoor Pool, 375 Cedarvale Ave. 

On the 22nd, the following pools will have swimming at the same time (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.) here:

  • Heron Park, 292 Manse Rd. 
  • McGregor Park, 2231 Lawrence Ave E. 
  • Riverdale Park East, 550 Broadview Ave. 

Dogs must have their rabies vaccination (have proof) and of course, an adult must be present to accompany the pup!

The City also asks for no more than two dogs per adult.
