Interested? Currently, there are 80 cats and 20 dogs up for adoption – and the best part? Included in the lowered adoption price will be a spay or neutering surgery, a microchip implant, a 1-year animal license, the first set of vaccinations and de-worming.

According to the ASC, dogs will be available for $75, while cats will be $50 – despite usual fees being $225 and $169 respectively.

“The high number of animals in the shelter’s care is likely a result of various factors, including economic challenges, housing issues, and the city’s continuous growth,” said Tara Decker of the Animal Services Centre, who is organizing this event.

“We believe that every pet deserves a loving home, and we’re excited to make it easier than ever for Calgarians to find their ‘furever’ friends,” said Tara. “The Adopt-a-thon is the perfect occasion to welcome a new family member and spread some much-needed warmth during the winter season.”

The catch? You’ll only have between November 2nd and 4th to check it out and animals will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

No matter what you’re looking to adopt, we hope to see you there! These dogs and cats need you, Calgary!

Heck, you might just find your new BFF!
