Woof! Have a furry companion you’d like to bring along for a beach day? Don’t leave your pooch at home, There are a handful of dog-friendly beaches and beach areas in and around Toronto so the whole family can enjoy a day by the shore.

Balmy Beach Park is on the city’s east end and has a designated dogs-off-leash area called Silverbirch!
The dog-friendly area lies along the shoreline southeast of the park, stretching east from the foot of Silver Birch Avenue to the foot of Nursewood Road.

Located on the north shore of the Outer Harbour at the foot of Cherry Street is a beach with a fenced-in dog-friendly area.
The City of Toronto also notes this is a great place to catch a sunset so enjoy the views with your furry pal.

If you want to be where the people (and pets) are then head over to Wasaga Beach!
This is a hot summer destination and there’s a dog beach to use within Wasga’s Ontario Park.
The shoreline is around 14 KM long so be sure to check for the dog area which can be found In “Beach Area 3”.

Just over two hours by car from Toronto is a Provincial Park with a vast dog beach!
According to Ontario Parks, “Enjoy the amazing dog beach and pet exercise area with your four-legged friend.”

On the shores of Lake Simcoe near Orillia is another Ontario Park with a dog-friendly beach!
McRae Point’s shores welcome dogs and have a pet-exercise area to enjoy.

This popular sandy destination has a dog beach!
Turkey Point is just over 2 and a half hours from Toronto but is well worth the day trip with your pooch.

Not far from Turkey Point is Rock Point, another Ontario Park with a dog beach.
Not only is there a designated area along the 1 KM shore for dogs, there is also a pet exercise trail to take advantage of.
