And now, we come to some places in Vancouver offering Gingerbread House making kits.
Guests at Swiss Bakery can order fully-made gingerbread houses ($63), DIY kits ($25) that create 8″ x 8″ x 10″ gingerbread creations, fully decorated with candy and icing. And for folks who just want to add candy to a pre-assembled gingerbread house ($53), they’ve got you covered, too. They even have gingerbread men & women you can populate your house with!
Note that this spot is closed on weekends and holidays.
Where: 143 East 3rd Avenue
As the name suggests, Ginger & Bread Co has various offerings when it comes to gingerbread house making, and not just the standard four-wall houses that we’ve become accustomed to. They have different gingerbread kits for several different house sizes, including “The City House” ($65), “The BC Rancher” ($55), “The Condo Tower” ($65) and the classic “Winter Cottage” ($35).
Where: 5279 Still Creek Avenue
For dairy and gluten-free gingerbread houses, check out Lemonade Bakery on Cambie. Each DIY kit is only $25, so this is also a great option for your wallet as well. Note that there is no shipping available outside of Greater Vancouver.
Where: 3385 Cambie Street
And that’s a wrap on where you can build your own gingerbread house in Vancouver. We hope you’re inspired to rally your loved ones together and create (and eat!) a gingerbread villa.
