A series of Diwali festivals is coming to Metro Vancouver and they’re all free to attend

Diwali is a Hindu festival of Lights celebrated across the globe, and it’s lighting up Vancouver with a series of celebrations this month.

B.C. officially proclaimed that Oct. 5 to 25, 2025, would mark Diwali Fest Days, which will bring Diwali events to locations across the province. With Surrey’s Diwali Festival kicking off the series, there will be plenty more to enjoy in Metro Vancouver over the next couple of weeks.

Diwali in Coquitlam

Coquitlam’s Evergreen Cultural Centre is transforming with vibrant music and dance performances, a Diwali Bazaar, festive arts and crafts, and much more for this free celebration on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025. Guests can see dancers adorned in traditional attire move in harmony with the flicker of Diyas, sharing stories of prosperity, joy, and light.

Diwali in New Westminster

Diwali New West will feature South Asian music and dance performances starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, as well as creative Diwali crafts, beautiful henna designs, and fun for all ages.

When: Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025
Time: 4 p.m.
Where: 777 Columbia St., New Westminster
Cost: Free

Diwali at Tsawwassen Mills 

Guests can expect henna, festive bites, and live music and dance at the Diwali celebration at Tsawaassen Mills on Friday.

When: Friday, Oct. 17, 2025
Time: 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: 5000 Canoe Pass Way
Cost: Free

Diwali at Marine Gateway 

A free cultural celebration with live music and dance, tasty treats, henna, and more is coming to Marine Gateway.

When: Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025
Time: 2 to 5 p.m.
Where: 450 SW Marine Dr.
Cost: Free

Diwali in Vancouver 

The festivities culminate in a final Diwali celebration in Vancouver, at Yaletown’s Roundhouse Community Centre on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025. Here, guests can expect an array of classical and contemporary music and dance performances, and plenty of warm Chai to go around.

Time: 2 to 5 p.m.
Where: 181 Roundhouse Mews
Cost: Free

Note that (free) online registration is required to attend the performances at each festival, but the other events and activities are drop-in friendly.
