A heartfelt Dia de los Muertos celebration is happening in Toronto next month

Mexico’s annual Dia de los Muertos reminds us that death isn’t an ending but rather a celebration of life and love. Toronto’s beloved Evergreen Brick Works is hosting its own celebration, the Good Mourning Festival, welcoming all to embrace the same spirit.

Rooted in the traditions of Mexican culture, Dia de los Muertos honours loved ones who’ve passed away through colour, music, food and togetherness.

What to expect

Taking place on Nov. 1 and 2, 2025, inside the Evergreen Brick Works grounds, the Good Mourning Festival builds on that legacy. They have created a space where people from all walks of life can come together to reclaim mourning as something beautiful.

Over two days, festival-goers can explore art installations, take part in creative workshops, visit local vendors, and enjoy delicious food and guided walks.
