Flames coach calls McDavid “best player on the ice” following Game 1

Game 1 of the Battle of Alberta didn’t exactly go as planned for the Oilers, but one thing’s for sure- Connor McDavid continues to dominate the conversation. In a press conference today, Flames coach Darryl Sutter wasn’t shy to shower praise on the superstar.

Following a 4-point game, and with an absolute beauty of a goal to open things up for the Oilers, it’s clear that Connor McDavid is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, McDavid now has a whopping 18 points in the postseason, six more than any other player in the league.

And if anyone knows his potential, it’s Darryl Sutter. The Flames coach was quick to recognize his skill in a press conference today, saying he’s “the best player in the league, he was the best player on the ice last night, not even close.” (exact quote at 4:15) Yeah, we’re going to agree with you, Darryl. And hopefully, McDavid will continue to show his skill in the coming games. Along with the rest of the team, of course.

Now, time to figure out just where we’re going to watch it with our pals. Maybe Rogers Place? Maybe a great sports bar? Whatever the case, we can’t wait for Game 2 tomorrow! Let’s go Oilers!
