A 5-day long comedy festival is coming to Toronto & here’s everything to know

Get ready to ROFL and LOL, because Toronto’s comedy scene is about to be shaken with laughter. The much-anticipated Danforth Comedy Festival is making a grand entrance this year.

The fest will run for five days over two consecutive weekends- from Friday, August 4th – Sunday, August 6th and Saturday, August 11th and Sunday, August 12. You can catch 17 different shows over these five days. These will take place in various iconic venues – Comedy Bar, SoCap Comedy and The Don on Danforth – scattered across Toronto’s vibrant Danforth neighbourhood.

The festival is produced by uproarious Comedy Nuggets production company, known for curating top-notch comedy events, the Danforth Comedy Festival is all set to become a highlight on Toronto’s entertainment calendar. The production house has a reputation for bringing side-splitting humour to the masses, and they’re gearing up to deliver a chucklesome experience yet again. And this one is sure to leave comedy enthusiasts like us clamouring for more.

The comedy extravaganza promises to be a riotous celebration of humour, featuring some of the funniest acts from both local talent and renowned comedians from all around the country. You can witness emerging comedic talents as well as catch performances from established names who’ve graced the stages of prestigious comedy festivals and late-night talk shows. Think Just For Laughs, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with James Corden and more.

Basically, Danforth Comedy Festival is the perfect chance to discover new faves while indulging in the antics of familiar faces.

Expect a diverse lineup of shows including stand-up, improv, sketch comedy, musical comedy and open mic. Whether you’re into punny one-liners, thought-provoking satire, or gut-busting physical comedy, this festival has something for everyone.

Tickets to the festival shows are currently on sale online. While the tickets will be available at venue doors too, booking in advance will save you some bucks. So, it makes the most sense to grab your tickets early on, especially if you’re planning to catch multiple shows (which we highly recommend).
