If you’re a fan of animal plushies, cute stationery sets, and discounted home goods, you’ve likely already heard of Daiso Japan. And if you live in Vancouver, you may have already stopped by the downtown location to check out their range of budget-friendly products. Now, joining over 5,000 stores worldwide is a brand new location in Richmond, which will mark the retailer’s third store opening in Canada.
The Japanese retailer plans to open an additional 25 to 30 locations in North America by the end of next year. But luckily, Vancouverites won’t have to wait until then before checking out the new Richmond location.
The first Daiso grand opening of 2023 will occur at the Lansdowne Centre on Saturday, January 7th at 10 am. So mark your calendars and get ready to shop some amazing grand opening promotions throughout the weekend.
In terms of child-friendly products, Daiso has plenty of toys, plushies, and beloved character products from Disney, Sanrio, Rilakkuma, and more. As well, Daiso offers shoppers an array of popular cosmetic products, craft supplies, Bento box ingredients, and home & organization products to choose from.
The 5,586-square-foot store in Richmond will cover all the brand’s bases, so get ready to shop ’til you drop. Those interested can RSVP for their grand opening event, or simply show up during the grand opening weekend. Note that the first 100 customers on both Saturday and Sunday will get a free goodie bag with a minimum $40 purchase!

So, if you need to do a bit of last-minute holiday shopping, a trip to Daiso on Granville Street or the newly minted Metrotown spot is a solid plan. Just note that both stores are closed on Christmas Day, but open from 10 am to 6 pm on Christmas Eve.
