Ontario has a sea of floating cranberries that you can plunge into

It’s almost that time, Ontario! The annual cranberry harvest is about to begin and to us, that only means one thing — the Ontario cranberry plunge, of course.

Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh is a sprawling 27-acre farm that produces up to 400,000 lbs of cranberries each year.

This huge harvest is something you have to see to believe, and you can get the best view possible by strapping on some waders and plunging right in.

You’ll feel like a real cranberry grower as you wade through a sea of floating fruit and toss the berries in the air for the perfect photo op.

The plunge area is about a 10 to 15-minute walk from the entrance and the terrain is uneven and steep at times, but the trek is worth it once you arrive.

You’ll have ample opportunity to snap photos and take in the incredible scenery. Afterward, you can stick around for a wine tasting, wagon ride, and hike through the gorgeous trails.

All visits to the cranberry harvest must be pre-booked online, and if you’d like to explore the grounds and participate in activities, you can book them individually or purchase the all-access pass.

The harvest begins on September 23rd this year and is usually finished by Halloween, making it the perfect fall activity.

It’s time to finally cross this unique activity off your autumn bucket list.
