Canada’s festive holiday train will stop in Toronto this week

The annual CPKC Holiday Train is rolling into Toronto this weekend, bringing all the festive cheer, glowing displays and live music to enjoy.

Every year, the 2025 CPKC Holiday Train goes on a scenic tour across Canada and the U.S. It started on Nov. 19 and is set to run through Dec. 21, 2025. Its goal is to raise money, food, and awareness to support food banks across its network.

When is the CPKC Holiday Train coming to Toronto?

Well, Toronto, now it’s your turn. The holiday train will be making a stop in the west end on Nov. 29, 2025, at 8:30 p.m.

You’ll want to be there on time, and possibly earlier if you want a good view, as the train will only be stopped for a few minutes.

As the trains chug along, professional musicians play free concerts on the brightly decorated train’s stage. And they’re not just any musicians either. This year’s performances include the Barenaked Ladies, Lanco, and Tiera Kennedy.

Ontario’s performers for this year will be Jade Eagleson, Teigen Gayse, Smash Mouth, and JJ Wilde. These will vary depending on location.

“Every year, our railroaders take great pride in bringing the Holiday Train across our network, this year reaching even more communities for the first time,” said Keith Creel, CPKC president and CEO.

“We are thrilled to send this beautiful train filled with lights and music to spread the joy of the season, and proud to support the giving spirit of the holidays, assisting people experiencing food insecurity. It’s incredible to see communities come together every year to celebrate the holidays while supporting local food banks.”

Each event is free to watch, but CPKC is encouraging attendees to make a monetary or heart-healthy food donation. Local food banks will be accepting donations at each stop.

Don’t miss out on this magical moment. It really does bring out the joy of the season!
