Vancouver’s FREE dragon boat festival will kick off summer & it’s hiring right now

If you love participating in cultural festivals across the city, tune in. The Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival is a celebrated tradition in Vancouver dedicated to the Chinese sport of dragon boat racing. Best of all? The series of races are free to attend!

Hosted by the Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society, North America’s flagship dragon boat fest attracts over 100,000 visitors every year, who flock to False Creek to witness over 100 teams race at one of “BC’s largest dragon boat races,” according to its Facebook page.

This year, there will be over 200 teams from around the world competing in the festival, according to its website.

Visitors can also enjoy live music on the main stage and check out a variety of local vendors and food trucks.

The family-friendly event kicks off a whole host of outdoor fun across Metro Vancouver with rhythmic drumming, enthusiastic crowds, and a smorgasbord of entertainment.
