10 of the best concerts coming to Edmonton this May

Hello, music lovers! We might be in the middle of April, but already we’re thinking about all the amazing concerts coming to Edmonton in May. From huge names to cult favourites, across a wide variety of genres, there’s an option for just about everyone on the horizon! Don’t believe us? Keep reading for some proof.

Here are some of the best concerts coming to Edmonton this May.

Billy Talent

Relive the best part of the Vans Warped Tour! If you didn’t listen to at least a few Billy Talent songs during an angsty teen phase, then you didn’t grow up in Canada. It’s that simple.

When: Tuesday, May 3rd
Where: 9797 Jasper Avenue
Cost: $60.50+

Action Bronson and Earl Sweatshirt

Arguably the most rowdy concert of the month also happens during the first week! We’ll admit this isn’t a mashup we really expected to see, but we’re nonetheless super excited to witness it play out.

When: Tuesday, May 3rd
Where: 6240 99 Street NW
Cost: $54.50+

Corb Lund

We’ve got a little home-grown country action in store this May! Corb Lund is playing not one, not two, but three back-to-back shows at the Starlite Room to kick off the month.

When: Thursday, May 5th to Sunday, May 8th
Where: 10030 102 Street NW
Cost: Varies

BORGEOUS

This list would not be complete without at least one EDM pick… and we’re going with BORGEOUS! High energy is the name of the game here, so drink a bunch of water and go dance your heart out at the Midway.

When: Thursday, May 5th
Where: 6107 104 Street NW
Cost: $29+

Shakey Graves

A little blues/indie/country mashup? You better believe. Shakey Graves may have made his bones with ‘Roll the Bones’ years ago, but he’s been producing some very nice, very easy listening music, ever since as well.

When: Saturday, May 7th
Where: 4 Sir Winston Churchill Square NW
Cost: $44.91+

Isaiah Rashad

Meanwhile, this TDE mainstay is bringing some of the best of conscious rap to Edmonton! It’s an easy sell, between his deeper-than-most lyrics and top tier production.

When: Friday, May 13th
Where: 6107 104 Street NW
Cost: $49.50+

Yukon Blonde

Back to indie rock we go! Yukon Blonde has sold out at venues across North America for their tour, but regular priced tickets are still available for Edmonton. Take advantage of them.

When: Wednesday, May 18th
Where: 10030 102 Street
Cost: $20+

Avril Lavigne

Speaking of Vans Warped Tour callbacks… Avril Lavigne is also coming to Edmonton next month! A bonafide superstar in Canada, Lavigne has both new music and some absolutely iconic bangers from years gone by in her repertoire.

When: Thursday, May 19th
Where: 10220 104 Avenue NW
Cost: $35+

Future Islands

Like Yukon Blonde, we’re surprised that Future Islands is one of the concerts yet to sell out in Edmonton for May. We’re not complaining though… it’s all the more reason to go see them!

When: Thursday, May 19th
Where: 6107 104 Street NW
Cost: $39.50+

bbno$

Last but certainly not least, we’ve got this Vancouver rapper that has quickly risen to international fame. Raucous and lighthearted, it’s a great option for those who just wanna dance it out a little bit this month.

When: Monday, May 23rd
Where: 6240 99 Street NW
Cost: $35+

Well folks, that’s our roundup for the best concerts coming to Edmonton this May! We hope you get a little music in your life next month. We know we’re going to!
