This Ontario park on a historic waterway offers colourful fall camping

Your next adventure awaits you and it’s the perfect fall escape. Rideau River Provincial Park is just minutes away from Canada’s capital. It’s a wonderous sight, surrounded by scenic landscapes that transform into beautiful hues of orange as the colder season approaches. And if you’re itchin’ for some more camping adventures, it’s the perfect place to do so.

Rideau River Provincial Park is about a four-and-a-half-hour drive east of Toronto and about 30 minutes away from Ottawa.

According to Ontario Parks, it is located along the historic Rideay which just so happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Families can camp on a level of shaded campsites with the necessary amenities in close proximity.

The website shares that it is an ideal spot for RVers too. There are almost 200 level campsites located within the mature forest, surrounded by lush ferns – it’s a private experience worth booking.

If you’re looking for a campsite with a great view of the Rideau River, the West Campground is your best bet.

And the best part is, if you book in the fall, you will be surrounded by beautiful shades of orange as the trees transition for the fall season.

If you’re planning a day trip, you can book your day-use permit online in advance to secure your spot.

Reservations become available at 7 AM, just five days before your arrival date. As for camping, book your experience here.

Though summer is coming to an end, that doesn’t mean we can’t have just as much fun in the fall season.
